The Pharmacy Act authorizes pharmacy professionals, in accordance with the terms, conditions and limitations set out in their certificate of registration, to administer substances specified in the regulations (O. Reg. 256/24) by injection. Before doing so, pharmacy professionals must have completed a College-approved injection training course and registered their training with the College.
To inject substances not listed in O. Reg. 256/24, pharmacy professionals may collaborate with other regulated health professionals to explore delegation of authority.
