The Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) and Pharmacy Act e-Learning Module provides an overview of key principles in the Regulated Health Professions Act and its related regulations as well as the Pharmacy Act and its regulations. We recommend that you view this module and refer to the legislation as required, as well as the practice policies and guidelines applicable to the RHPA and Pharmacy Act.

October 1, 2026:
To administer Schedule 3 vaccines by injection, pharmacy professionals must successfully complete an OCP-approved injection course, maintain valid CPR and First Aid certification equivalent to St. John Ambulance or Red Cross Standard/Intermediate First Aid & CPR/AED Level C, and register their training with the College. Pharmacy technicians have until March 31, 2027, to meet the CPR and first aid requirement. Until that date, pharmacy technicians who have completed injection training can only administer vaccines under the supervision of a pharmacist or another healthcare professional who has CPR and First Aid certification.
